Affilorama began in 2005 by Mark Ling and is a community training platform for affiliate marketers of various ability levels. Mark has had great success as an Affiliate and a merchant. It's supposed to be for anyone who wants to make extra money as an online affiliate marketer. The training is centered around setting up a website with an Affilorama theme through to the marketing and promotional techniques used in the industry.

Mark has significant experience as a merchant affiliate marketer and promoter so has the knowledge to put behind it.

Final opinion: Affilorama is pricey especially when you are adding upsells!  Some may find this training platform a little confusing to navigate and it had issues with my login in the free version on my mobile device. 1. Afiliorama seems interesting. I think that it would be worth it to check out the free information, though the upsales are off putting. It seems nice that it includes the crafted emails and website hosting and I like the fact that it has a support system.

What are some of the advantages of Wealthy Affiliate over Affiliorama?

    1. Hi and thanks for calling by!

Both Affiliorama and Wealthy Affiliate have their merits.

But for me, the platform in Wealthy Affiliate is much more user friendly and straight-forward to use.

Secondly, the training in Wealthy Affiliate is top-class! You can become an expert very quickly if you follow through with the training or lessons everyday and carry out the tasks, even if you only spent an hour a day doing this.

Thirdly, there is expert help at a drop of a hat from the second you start in Wealthy Affiliate. There are many layers to the support including 24/7 live chat, asking questions of community members directly, searching the questions and answers database, the 24/7 technical support team, messaging the owners Karl and Carson themselves (a premium members benefit) and then of course there are the videos, webinairs which you can watch over and over again.

      Hope this helps you 🙂

  2. Hi, Rina! I have been searching for reviews of Afilorama and I’m very happy that I found yours. I like the way you honestly describe the platform showing pros and cons. I like the fact that Mark Ling is well known and respected in this industry. But I don’t like the up-sells. Thank you for this review.

    1. Thank you Henry for calling by and for your comments. Yes, the trouble with upsells is that you can never be sure whether you have everything you need or how much more you will need to make the thing go! My advice would be to make sure that you have ALL the parts to start with. Then if you want to add some ‘bling’ later on, then it’s up to you. In Wealthy Affiliate, you get all the parts to make it work right from the start.

      Regards 🙂

  3. This is a great review. I am always looking for great affiliate programs. Everything is worth looking at. Instead of me going searching you saved me a lot of time.

At the end of the day as good as this looks Im not convinced its better than WA

I just think WA is a bit more affordable and the one on one with Kyle and Carson as well as the community is great.

  4. Hi there. I just finished reading your review of Affilorama and thought I would just share my thoughts with you as I have had a bit of experience with this site myself.

I joined Affilorama a few years ago as I really wanted to work online and make money as an affiliate. I didn’t have any issues with logging in as you had. However, I did find the training quite expensive. I started out with the free membership and quickly needed to upgrade. I did upgrade to the monthly membership, but I just found the videos really boring!

Don’t get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with the quality of the training. In fact I got a lot of useful info from affilorama. But unfortunately the membership just didn’t seem worth it to me. The videos were very bland and I often found myself loosing concentration with them as there seemed to be a lot of filler content.

Coupled with the fact that there always seemed to be something else to buy, I moved on.

It seems that even after a couple of years, Affilorama hasn’t changed too much.

    1. Hi Andrew, thanks for stopping by and for your account of your experience with Affilorama. Thanks again for sharing.

      Regards 🙂

  5. Hi Rina, thank you for posting your review on Affilorama. I know about this program and Mark Ling. I was a member in 2009 until 2011.I first started to learn affiliate marketing with Affilorama. I was not really successful. i kept my website for 2 yrs. and I did not earn a dime. I lost interest esp. with all the cost associated, like domain name paid on a yearly basis, hosting, autoresponders, keyword tool which was Traffic Travis and website building software which was XsitePro. I also had ads with google. All that just kept eating money from my hard earned income that did not generate me a cent. So I closed everything and tried to do something else. But Affilorama is good, if you have the money to sustain the monthly dues and Mark Ling is a successful online marketer as well. He is one of the few who became successful, the gurus they say. So goodluck to you if you are still with them.

    1. Hi Rebecca, and thanks for sharing your experiences! It doesn’t seem right that if you were still not earning a dime from your website 2 years in, what support or advice were you getting to figure out why your website traffic wasn’t converting?

If you are recieving the right training (training that actually works), the right support and advice from a ‘GURU’ who makes himself available to you, the right tools (you shouldn’t be paying extra for), and you can scale it (without paying more for it) the chances of not converting are slim. It doesn’t happen overnight, but 2 years in tells me that you hadn’t received advice or training to try and change your circumstances.

Now on the otherhand, if you are a person who ignores expert advice and you think you know it all, or you skip the trainings or are impatient and rush through the building out part, then yes this could be a reason for not having success with your niche website 2 years in…BUT I don’t think that this is you Rebecca…

If you want to give it another try Rebecca…you ABSOLUTEY can have success in the right program…

  6. Huh, this is one of the most no-nonsense reviews I’ve ever read! You really gave it the once over!

Some of the features, such as the step-by-step video lessons, and especially the ready-made content and email templates, sound very interesting to me, but the large sum we’re expected to fork over upfront really makes me think twice about Affilorama. It’s a lifetime access, sure, but I’m not sure if one month’s free trial is quite enough for me to decide if I want to go “all-in” on a paid membership.

    1. Hi Tai! Thanks so much for your comments. Forking out any amount before getting a feel for it is off-putting. So if you can get to try something without forking out, then you have nothing to lose. It’s as simple as that. Here is where you can try for free.

All the best success to you Tai!

      Regards 🙂
