11 Affiliate Marketing FAQs

Scratch ones head when one is confused:1. What is an affiliate marketing business?

An affiliate marketing business owner is anyone who markets another’s products in return for a commission. Generally, it involves directing potential buyers to a merchant’s website in the hope they will buy their product/s, and the affiliate will receive a commission.

2. What do I need to start an affiliate business?

You will need an internet connection, a computer or mobile device and your investment of time. It also pays to learn from those who have done it before you and have great success with their own affiliate businesses. This will save you an enormous amount of time and effort. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. The wheels are already turning for you.

3. Can I work whatever hours I want to?

Most definitely. The time and effort you put into the foundation of the business, the quicker you will see a return in the way of earnings.

4. Can I work my affiliate business anywhere?

You can work where ever you have an internet connection. Many affiliate marketers travel while working as they have the freedom to do this with an affiliate business. This also means that you can work at times which suit you.

5. Can I get support for free to get started with my own website?

Absolutely there are programs and people to get you started but not all of them are for free or let you try it out beforehand without paying for it. If you have to pay first, look elsewhere.  Think about it. If you were buying a new smartphone for the first time, you would want to see the range of phones to compare functionality, style, ease of use, price, warranty etc, before parting with your money. Well, this is no different.  You can check out a selection of affiliate training platforms here...

6. Is there support beyond the ‘Getting Started’ program?

Absolutely. There should always be support no matter what level of experience you are at or which part of the world you are in. 24/7 support is preferred because affiliate marketing is global. Scalability should also be a feature of any affiliate platform – being able to turn a revenue from several niche websites should be a key feature to consider when choosing a training and hosting platform.

7. How long does it take to complete the training and have an affiliate business earning commission?

This depends on you. Affiliate business is dependent on content you provide on your website, which increases your search ranking, allowing more people to see and browse your website, which drives traffic to the merchants and products you are promoting on your website, which leads to sales for those merchants, which leads to commissions for you. On average it can take between a month and a year for an affiliate business to start earning dependent of investment of time.

It’s easier now than it’s ever been. Wealthy Affiliate has great training programs that are suitable for individuals completely new to the affiliate world. There are a lot of tools, training materials, and people who are experts at it, that you will have access to.

9. Does it matter that I’ve got no internet marketing experience?

No. Most people who have started affiliate businesses didn’t have any experience to start with. Great training though will make all the difference and there are plenty of platforms to choose from. However, there are plenty of scams out there so you want to make sure you do your due diligence – in other words, make sure you do your homework.  Start by checking out a selection of affiliate training platforms right here…

  2. Hi, I have read so much from various people and Q&A sections with regards WA.
When talking about income levels I realise that this is totally dependent on commitment and niche markets etc. My question simply is after month one and you only earn a dollar how do you get that dollar into your personal bank account? What actually happens to earn that dollar and then for it to be transferred into your bank?
    Thanks for your time.

    • Hiya Alan!

When you earn a dollar online, it is an online financial transaction. When moving these transactions around online from seller to buyer for example, it is more efficient to do so via an online service such as PayPal. If you are the one receiving the funds, it is paid into your PayPal account. You can then move the funds from your PayPal account to a designated bank account of your choice.

If you are an affiliate and promoting WA and a visitor to your website clicks a ‘unique’ link to register in the training in WA, you receive a commission when a ‘starter member’ becomes a premium member. Your earnings are on your own ‘Dashboard’ within WA. You set a threshold amount and when your earnings reach that threshold, WA will pay the earnings to your PayPal account…and then it can be transferred to your designated bank account directly from PayPal. It’s a very safe way to move funds around online and then to your bank account. Fees apply in PayPal.

I hope this has answered your questions.

Have a great day Alan and thanks so much for calling by!

      Regards 🙂
