Find Your Niche Business – Preparing for Online Affiliate Marketing

Find Your Niche Business - Preparing for Online Affiliate Marketing - Thumbs upFind Your Niche Business – Preparing for Online Affiliate Marketing will provide an insight and direction to finding your business niche. Once you have decided your niche, you basically have the start of an online affiliate business.

OVERVIEW

In the online Affiliate  Marketing world, we are following a pathway and trying to build a full-time business online, and becoming an expert in any niche. Regardless of what that niche is, the surest path is to having success, and long-term success being the ultimate goal. So, let us start with how to go about choosing your niche and being able to target your particular niche group or target audience to lead you to success with affiliate marketing.

Defining a Target Niche Group of People

A common mistake when choosing a niche is to choose something too broad – for instance, actors, animals, basketball players, baseball teams, authors, cars but these are niches that are way board. To tackle any of these audiences, you would need a full-time team of content writers. But we want to be self-sufficient and be able to deal with a niche on our own and to scale it out as well.Find Your Niche Business - Preparing for Online Affiliate Marketing - Crowd

Let’s look and the broad subject ‘books’. For example, a lot of people want to target books, such as Kindle books but in reality, you are better off targeting a segment, or category or even a single book. I know 50 Shades Of Grey, for example, was a best-selling book last year and one affiliate marketer, in particular, wrote an article about the book and received over 1 million views within three months of their article. I don’t know how much revenue was generated from the article, but I’m sure they made at least 50 thousand dollars off this single article targeting a single book. I’m not saying you should start here, but just saying that ‘books’ is way too broad, but narrowed down, so you have books on travel, books on model aircraft, cooking books such as baking, and so on. Don’t go too broad with your niche.

What A Niche IsFind Your Niche Business - Preparing for Online Affiliate Marketing - Three empty box shelves

In essence, a niche is a group of people looking for something regardless of what you choose. Whether they are looking for help to ease an ailment or how to fix something or to find reviews on the latest digital cameras. Or the best baby strollers online, its always going to be a group of people looking for something – information about something, looking for help, looking to buy something a lot of the time. So if you can think of it this way it will make finding a niche way simpler. Another thing is any niche can be successful, but it is you and your website which will make it a successful journey. A niche doesn’t start off being successful; it is you that will make it so.

No matter what niche you end up choosing whether it’s cars, sport or business, or promoting Wealthy Affiliate, it is you who will turn your niche into a successful journey. You will do this by writing content, by communicating and interacting with people in a way that creates trust – when you earn the trust of individuals you are going to create a successful promotional channel or even channels within your site.

An Interest versus A PassionFind Your Niche Business - Preparing for Online Affiliate Marketing - Love heart hands

Finally, a niche isn’t necessarily something you’re passionate about but should be something that interests you. Some people will say they don’t have a passion or hobby. There are loads of niche ideas, however, and yes there will be one for you too. It should be, however, something that really interests you so finding this is indeed possible. What’s really required is that you are interested enough so that you are communicating it by creating content and engaging with your niche audience. You could also go over to Amazon and find a truckload of niches there as well.

So hopefully I have been able to clarify what a niche is for you. Finally, I have added a Wealthy Affiliate link for you which I would suggest you also read, called ‘A Niche Is A Group Of People Looking For Stuff.’ It is an overview and will break it down further with more examples such as what niches are too broad and especially those who are interested in health and how to get your niche much more targeted.

  1. Finding a niche is the ultimate in affiliate marketing. It can make or mar your business even before it starts and the sad thing is you may not know on time until it’s late. However, if the niche has a decent audience this could be overcome.

Finding the right niche and trimming it down to the point where it is favourable could be the top priority.

    • As long as you have a niche which is of interest to others as you have mentioned, and you are able to get in front of them and offer stuff they like then this is a good start. There are many ways of testing an audience interest using keywords.

So, if people are searching for terms related to your niche (using a keyword search tool such as Jaaxy) then this is a sign that there is an audience – but as you mentioned, trimming your niche down is key. For example, if you are interested in organics, breaking it down might look like the following by trimming it down. – organic food, organic milk, organic milk for infants. So, your target audience is the mums who wish to feed their babies and infants organic only, and therefore, organic milk.

  2. Hi there,
I have just read your post on affiliate marketing and the particular subject of ‘finding a niche’.
I agree with you 100% on the topic of finding a theme or niche that you are particularly well versed in. That’s critical to success in the affil. marketing business.
You rightly pointed out that some niches are very broad and would be very difficult to promote.
My direction was a subject that I knew a lot about and I was pretty confident writing and blogging about.
I could stand over everything that I posted on my site and I think that’s important also.
    Thanks again and best wishes

    • Hi Phil and thanks for stopping by. It’s hard to go wrong when you choose a niche you are interested in and know a lot about as you already have an authority on, and will come across this way to your readers. A huge plus! So good on you and keep up the good work.

  3. Finding my own niche was only difficult because I did not know which one to start with. I was between running and teaching abroad. So I decided to work on both of them. These are my second month working on the websites and I am honestly very excited! We shall see where this goes! Great article.

So my focus on international teaching is my own experience and reviews to help people work abroad or to help the students at home/school!
My running focus is my own personal journey and helping people get into workout groups and eventually ask for donations or fees for those groups.

    • A lot of people starting out can find deciding on a niche a bit of a task, but if they think about their own experiences as you have done, then this should help them enormously. So thank you for taking the time to stop by and sharing your own experience.

I wish you all the best with your online ventures.

      regards 🙂
