SOMETHING sparked their interest in the first place when they searched a keyword related to the pain they are trying to solve. Your website comes up in the search results of the first results page – being on this page is like having a shop on Mainstreet. Inside your shop, you have products to sell to potential customers.  They are looking for the item or solution to their pain and will either leave with or without buying anything. If you arent solving a pain for them, then they will leave with nothing. BUT…if you are able to solve their pain for them, then they will convert!

Locating your website on Mainstreet where most of the traffic is

If your store is hidden behind a backstreet somewhere where it’s hard to find, there is less chance that foot traffic will be coming in to browse. On the other hand, if your store is in the middle of Mainstreet, you will have a better chance of attracting traffic.  ITS THE SAME ON THE INTERNET. Google is like Mainstreet and is one place to be seen, Bing and Yahoo are also on Mainstreet but Google is where most will go, AND THIS IS ONE PLACE WHERE YOU NEED TO BE SEEN. 1. Hello Rina!
I really like your idea of what it means to get traffic on its side. Google and the other search engines are the main street where your house must stand so visitors can get into your house (the website) From myself, I know that while I feel I’ve been thorough in my search for the right keywords, it’s not always My articles end up where I would like them to do.
My thought is, the more articles you write, the chances are that there is someone reading on your blog.
Can you see other alternatives to it?

    • Hi Steen and thanks for visiting and for your question and comments.

You can never have enough content or articles as it all helps in terms of an SEO strategy and in conjunction with keywords. As well though, it also helps in terms of sharing the same content in social media and therefore, in front of more people in your target market. The more articles the more diverse the more interesting to your target audience. Hope this helps.

      Regards 🙂

  2. I have a website and as of now the traffic is really low, I try really hard to bring up the traffic by sharing it on social media but a few posts get a lot of attention while the others do not. What do you think I could do to get more traffic on the site. I think most of the advice you have given here is something that I have tried!

    • The one single question that comes to mind is, are you targeting your posts to the right audience? Who is your target group and are you taking your posts and putting them in front of these people? Obviously, there are millions of people on social media and one mistake that online marketers usually make when starting out (as I did) is trying to post to all of them…but not all of them are interested in what you are posting. So, figure out who the people are that will be interested and find out where they hang out on social media and post there in front of them so they know you exist.

Let me know whether this has helped you or not.

      regards 🙂
